Project Surveyor is responsible for planning and executing of positioning and navigation tasks and data acquisition on projects, and being able to run/lead, projects of low to medium complexity. Responsible for the correct offsets, measurements and calibrations of positioning equipment, the set-up and/or operation of survey equipment, carrying out computations and the compilation of survey reports, and the appropriate QC of data, computations and reports. Typically follows prescribed guidelines and procedures. Provides on-the-job training to more junior colleagues. Has a college or university degree and continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers.

Typically follows prescribed guidelines and procedures but may deviate. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction and provides on-the-job training to more junior colleagues. Has a college or university degree and continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers..

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Liaise with the Project Managers and the Client Deliverables Manager/Service Line Manager on development survey strategies, project milestone schedules, and development of survey tools.
Advice on developments and innovations regarding survey systems and workflows.
Maintenance and improvement of survey procedures, work instructions, and forms in accordance with the company Integrated Management System (IMS).
Setting up of survey procedures in accordance with company IMS for all survey-related activities, when applicable.
Providing input to Survey Best Practice Work Instructions.
Support project management on project-specific technical queries and milestone schedules.
Involvement in the survey component of project briefings/debriefs.
Advice and guide staff on the execution of survey tasks ensuring work instructions are understood and followed.
Supervise regular information/updates to field staff on survey issues.
Liaise with clients on Geodesy issues.
Assist with input toward expedited reporting requirements.
Principal Working Relationships
This role reports directly to the Service Line Managers and assist with the requests from Project Managers and the Client Deliverables Manager, and has responsibility as a Survey Training Officer
Specific Additional Duties
Participate in special desk top studies to validate projects as required.
Issuance of relevant field tips and broadcast important technical information.
Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company IMS on Quality and HSE-related issues.
Act as Project Manager when required.
Skills/experience required to do the job:
M.Sc., B.Sc., or Post Graduate Diploma in a surveyor-related discipline.
Min. 7 years experience in the survey industry and 4 years offshore experience in Senior Surveyor or Party Chief level.
Conversant with equipment/software in use.
Fluent in both written and spoken English language.
