Jeff Temps, Jefferson’s in-house temp service, is seeking Medical Chaperones for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN). Medical Chaperones act as a witness for a patient and a heath professional during a medical examination or procedure. Will work under the supervision of the Department’s Nurse Manager or designate.
Essential Functions:

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Assists patient with designated care activities.
Reports observations of changes in patient condition or behavior to appropriate staff.
Be present in the exam room for the medical duration of the exam or procedure.
Will escort patients from the waiting room to the designated exam room

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Required:

Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Knowledge of principles and practices associated with the rights and responsibilities of patients and caregivers.
Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
