Job Description : Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Part-Time Mailroom Clerk at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park. NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena. Under general supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Mailroom Clerk distributes and processes all incoming and outgoing mail, distributes all interoffice correspondence, maintains an accurate inventory of office supplies and breakroom supplies, and delivers to applicable department offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

Check email and phone messages for any requests that have been received from the prior day.
Pick up the mail from 24-hour Security as soon as it arrives on property.
Sort and distribute all incoming mail, interoffice correspondence, and packages to each department twice daily.
On each mail run, pick up all outgoing mail and interoffice correspondence from HCSCC and all other ASM Global departments.
Using the postage meter and scale, weigh mail and apply appropriate postage to all outgoing mail and place all outgoing mail in the Drop Box at the West Entrance of NRG Center.
Verify out going package shipping labels are complete and intact and placed in the appropriate drop box.
Submit a postage report to the Finance department on the first business day of each month detailing the total amount of postage used for applicable entities such as CSC, HCSCC, etc., during the previous month.
Maintain an adequate amount of postage on the postage meter. Complete necessary purchase order and other paperwork involved for requesting additional postage in a timely manner.
Maintain a proper inventory of office supplies used by ASM Global employees.
Using Filemaker Pro, create and submit requests to order needed supplies to the Purchasing Manager for processing.
Maintain adequate mailroom supplies (i.e., overnight shipping supplies).
Receive supply orders for office supplies, maintaining the supply area in a neat and orderly manner.
Monitor, maintain and restock breakroom supplies and place orders with appropriate suppliers such as Aramark Refreshments, Coca-Cola, Sparkletts and office supply vendors, as applicable.
Deliver requested office and refreshment supplies to applicable department in an efficient manner.
Accept overnight and courier deliveries throughout the day from various vendors. Deliver items to recipient, or contact the appropriate company, as applicable.
Stock all soda machines each Friday before the end of the day, or sooner if necessary.
Deliver/maintain inventory of copier paper to all copier stations of ASM Global departments.
Maintain the mail room office, supply room and receiving area in a clean and orderly manner.
Maintain a current vendor contact list with contact names and phone numbers.
Maintain written up to date instructions on proper usage of applicable equipment such as the postage meter.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED is required.
Prior experience in a mailroom or similar position is a plus, but not required.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, supervisors, staff, and other employees.
Ability to function in an office environment effectively.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

Computer Skills

Operate a personal computer using basic knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel and/or other standard office equipment, as necessary.
File Maker Pro is a plus.

Other Qualifications

Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
