Physical Rehabilitation Tech – Job Description
Job Title: Rehabilitation Tech
Basic Job Purpose: Supports patient care delivery by helping healthcare providers with clinical and administrative duties. Supports rehab care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment and materials; performing procedures, under the supervision of a provider.
Supervision Received: Reports directly office manager and assigned physician.
Examples of Duties: (This list is not inclusive and subject to change based on the needs of the company.)
1. Perform procedures under supervision of physician.2. Prepares patients for rehab treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.3. Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.4. Give instructions to patients per the provider.5. Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.6. Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to the treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning patient on equipment.7. Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician.8. Enhances physical medicine department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Verbal communication, organization, professionalism, customer focus, confidentiality. Must have understanding of medical terminology and comfortable using an EMR exclusively for patient care. Knowledge of computer systems and applications, specifically Gmail and Microsoft Office. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, decision-making. Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations. Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and focus on accuracy. Professionalism, including excellent phone and email etiquette.
Personal Qualities and Other Qualifications: Neat and friendly appearance. Good organizational and strong communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of persons. Understanding, courteous, empathetic, and professional at all times in contacts with patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff. Positive attitude and team-oriented.
Education and Languages: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. Strong oral and writtenEnglish skill required. Strong oral and written Spanish a plus.
Compensation and Benefits: Hourly rate, typically between $14-16/hour. Health insurance (after 90 days). Benefit days, including vacation and paid holidays (after 90 days).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour
