The Ice Cream Manufacturing Plant in Phoenix, Arizona has an opening for Quality Assurance Coordinator.
In this role you will be primarily responsible for: Assisting the QA Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring all Food Safety related programs and daily supervision of the QA Lab staff.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensure day to day production meets the established standards of quality and food safety including collection, review, and verification of process control documents and electronic records in a timely manner as determined by FSMA requirements and company policies.
Responsible for plant Food Safety Plan updating and reporting to include data collection, procedure development, compliance auditing, and record keeping.
Deal with regulatory and plant personnel ensuring ongoing compliance with a focus on maintaining and improving relationships.
Perform plant floor duties including, but not limited to: GMP audits, employee training, monitoring, and 5S program compliance
Develop and implement new quality programs (sanitary maintenance, SQF audit gap analysis) to meet corporate quality standards for all US Plants.
Act as coverage for QA lab staff or QA Manager in their absence.
Microbiological analysis including preparation and plating of samples or gathering samples for external laboratory analysis.
Order materials and lab supplies as needed.
Actively participate on the Food Defense Team and Food Safety Team meetings, as well as other company initiatives that promote compliance and continuous improvement.
Work flexible hours and participate in operational tasks outside of the quality role as needed to assess and improve food safety and quality program.
Performs special projects and any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

College degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field (Desired).
3-5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance and laboratory experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
HACCP/FSMA certified or is willing to become certified within 6 months of hire.
High degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
Ability to analyze data and implement change confidently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
Establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.
Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
Energetic, self-motivated and the ability to manage multiple projects across multi-functional teams.
Ability to motivate, lead, and influence various levels of the organization
