Position : Cobra Enrollment Specialist (Remote)
Job Description : * Ability to commute to the office*
Purpose of Position:
Process and maintain all Federal and Cal-COBRA elections received for new and existing CaliforniaChoice Administrator groups and Choice Builder Cal-COBRA groups. Process COBRA premiums received and all changes to individual beneficiary records.
Essential Functions:
Understand company policies and procedures as they apply to CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder COBRA plans.
Maintain proficiency and knowledge of all Federal and State Continuation regulations and business processes.
Responsible for the review, process and quality control of COBRA notices, elections, changes, payments and reports.
Prepare and send eligibility records to insurance carriers as directed by regulation and corporate standards.
Facilitate and perform research on member issues that are moderately complex in nature in a professional manner.
Perform the tasks and functions necessary to manage the COBRA work and QC bins.
Interact with customer service and account management teams to resolve eligibility issues.
Input indexing values into our integrated document management system based on paperwork/requests received.
Assess and forward applications/changes/terminations to the appropriate team(s) or department(s) for processing.
Adhere to all PHI (Personal Health Information) guidelines and complete the WAB Security Awareness Training on a yearly basis.
Conduct work in a manner that is ethical by adhering to Company and department standards and policies and complying with applicable laws and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of information for which this position is privy.
Provide feedback during monthly 1 on 1’s regarding training needs based on error report(s), interaction with team member(s), or department(s).
Submit a minimum of two (2) work related efficiencies per calendar year.
On-site regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
Meet department standards/expectations for quality and quantity of work.
Meet department and team standards for turnaround times.
Research technical and legal questions posed by clients using internal resources and outside resources, if necessary.
Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Knowledge of COBRA regulations.
Experience in COBRA/HIPAA administration preferred.
Ability to adapt to policy and company changes.
Ability to retain large quantities of information regarding department and company policies.
Communicate effectively in English.
Computer literate (Windows), Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint and data entry skills.
Typing at 50 WPM or more.
Knowledge of the health insurance industry preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to think critically.
Strong research skills.
Strong problem solving, written, verbal, and organizational skills to communicate within an office environment.
Highly motivated, able to take initiative, accountable, excellent interpersonal communication and service oriented skills, team-oriented.

Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
B.A/B.S. in Human Resources, or related field a plus.
A minimum of 2 years of COBRA administration experience.
A minimum of 2 years office and/or processing experience.
