Job Description : The Director of Food is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all food preparation and execution at Honey Pie Pizza, Newberg and outside catering events arranged through Ferment & Feast. We are looking for a creative, hardworking, and dependable leader. Honey Pie Shop: – Direct the planning, organization, and coordination of all food preparation- Oversee food ordering and work with GM/ownership to maintain target cost objectives- Develop new menu items that support and develop the brand identity of Honey Pie Pizza- Ensure a high standard of safety, sanitation, and accident prevention- Support culinary team during busy shifts as neededCatering “Roadshow”: – Coordinate with GM/clients to design menus for all catering events- Oversee food ordering and cross utilization of products between catering events and shop- Direct and lead execution of food preparation and culinary activities for all catering events- Schedule culinary team members- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to support catering as needed- Integrate products from Godspeed Hollow and/or local farm partners when possibleAdministrative: – Recruit, train, manage, and mentor all culinary team members- Schedule and coordinate the work of all culinary team members to assure that food preparation is economical and technically correct, and within budgeted labor cost goals- Establish performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and take appropriate disciplinary action for culinary team as needed; has the authority to hire and terminate culinary team members with review from ownership team- Communicate needs regularly with ownership team- Other duties as assignedRequirements: Be a strong leader with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team membersStrong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships within the company, but also in the local community.Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities to meet deadlinesAbility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays in variable settings and weather as requiredAbility to drive a truck and trailerJob Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceDisability insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:Fast casual restaurantSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftEvening shiftHolidaysWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:We continue to respond to COVID precautions by following CDC and state guidelines.
