We are seeking a Director of Operations responsible for leading/developing and managing the Operations/Manufacturing departments within the organization. This individual will directly oversee the operations of the Production, Machining, Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering departments. Responsibilities include the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new or existing products and technologies.
Essential Functions:

Analyze department resources to effectively manage Operations—balancing the tactical and strategic demands of product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, schedules and staffing requirements to meet operational objectives and business unit goals.
Lead efforts to vertically expand manufacturing capabilities, as necessary, to extend value chain and reduce lead times to customers.
Monitors departmental metrics and workload of core departments—identifies best practices and opportunities areas, and provides solutions for improved efficiencies.
Anticipates requirements, trends/variances and develops action plans—measuring and analyzing results. Initiate corrective actions that minimize the impact of variances.
Manage and develop a strategic vision and approach to the corporate procurement process for the purchase of direct and indirect goods and services.
Directs management team by identifying and developing leadership within the team. Selects, develops and manages the performance of the department team members.
Reviews operations and financial performance against annual operating targets and production.
Develops annual operating plan and budgets. Researches, forecasts, analyzes risks and requests appropriate allocations in order to drive profitability and control spending to target levels.
Monitors manufacturing gross margin and drives efforts for improvement
Continually implements programs to reduce manufacturing cycle time and maximize inventory turns.
Responsible for optimized inventory management of manufactured products.
Communicate production status and operational plans within the Company.
MRP oversight to insure effectiveness and employee safety
Supports AS9100 Quality system and other quality programs/initiatives

Supervision of the Department(s)

Manage/coordinate activities of direct reports to ensure that they perform/adhere to the following:

o Follow establish Company policies/procedureso Processes and procedural guidelineso Meet productivity goals by the most efficient means possibleo Establish and exhibits a “teamwork” attitudeo Ensures that performance aligns with Company’s strategic goals
Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing management experience and/or combination of experience and education
Prior Aerospace experience is mandatory
Must have experience managing a project driven business
Demonstrated ability to develop a strategic plan to meet key business objectives/metrics in the areas of Production, Purchasing/Material handling, Inventory, and Cost
Proven record of success as a “hands-on” operational leader
Extensive experience in Supply Chain Management and working with ERP/MRP systems
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident as defined by ITAR regulations
