Job Description : The County of Riverside seeks candidates to fill positions throughout Riverside County. A list of eligible candidates will be established to fill current and future vacancies.
The County of Riverside’s Flood Control Department seeks a Garage Attendant to support our garage operations in Riverside County.
The Garage Attendant will execute garage support activities such as performing minor maintenance on automotive equipment, including changing windshield wipers and light bulbs, removing and replacing oil and air filters and replenishing fluids such as water and oil.
Additionally, the Garage Attendant will maintain garage facilities by performing general housekeeping responsibilities such as sweeping, removing trash and cleaning restrooms. The incumbent will also process deliveries and deliver equipment parts to different facilities in Riverside County.
Highly competitive candidates will have a working knowledge of basic automotive maintenance techniques, calculating supplies and shop equipment needed to service light and medium trucks up to 35,000 lbs. GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight). Experience using manual and power assisted automotive tools, tire changer, tire spin balancer and brake lathe. And, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
This is an entry-level class. Incumbents of this class perform a variety of unskilled functions normally associated with fleet services, such as servicing, dispatching or rental operations.
