Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Space Planning Section Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Primary Responsibilities:

Plan, manage, and supervise all aspects of site space planning and the team
Plan utilization of office space with requirements of organizational efficiency, and available facilities and funds.
Overseeing the planning, coordination, design and allocation office space, production space, warehouse space
Develop and recommend long-range plans to meet future office space needs.
Formulate, recommend, and ensure compliance with approved standards and policies relating to office space and furnishings.
Collaborate with programs to identify goals, create and implement space and occupancy strategies and plans that maximize the user experience and minimize resistance to change.
Coordinate with other Facilities Departments to achieve high quality and timely projects
Meet with customers to understand their needs and objectives, work with architects, engineers, design team, furniture vendor to develop a plan based on those criteria, and present that plan to the customer.
Coordinate with Facilities Strategy Manager to develop and maintain lists and reports of facilities plans, deficiencies and assist with field surveys.
Coordinate with other departments to create and maintain campus standards documentation for capital projects and ensure their compliance throughout the design and construction process;
Responsibility for developing campus standards in terms of office furniture, finishes, office sizes, conference room ratio, kitchenet layouts, etc.
Support sustaining furniture inventory management and deployment
Coordinate and assist with the development and planning of campus space inventory and supports the executive team regarding facility space utilization, office moves, related space planning needs such as on campus moves and evaluation of space for new initiatives;
Maintain building inventory systems to assure square footage and valuation are updated
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Reviewing both tactical and longer-term metrics for their team and handling performance that is outside of the defined thresholds.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or relevant area and 5 years of professional relevant experience. Seven years of experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
Experienced in communication, written and oral, and ability to deliver high level presentations
Prior team leadership experience
Ability to utilize AutoCAD or other map/diagram/modeling tools such as Visio
Prior space planning and/or project management experience across a range of organizations for a large institution
Experience working with Facilities Management Systems (e.g. Archibus, Tririga, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Project, etc.)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Department of Defense Top Secret and/or SCI Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years experience with Archibus software
Experience with budget managements and with organizational cost center/Dept ID attributes as well as org hierarchy
Ability to communicate with employees at all levels (hourly through executives)
Active TS or SCI (SSBI) clearance

Salary Range: $118,600 USD – $178,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
