Job Description : Job SummaryThe Billing Specialist is responsible for gathering charge information, coding, entering information into data base complete billing process and distributing billing information.Essential Job FunctionsResearches all information needed to complete billing processSubmits insurance appeals on denied claims for reviewReviews overpayments and requests refunds when appropriateFollows-up with insurance companies and ensures claims are paid/processedResubmits insurance claims that have received no response, are not on file, or have been deniedWorks with other staff to follow-up on accounts until zero balanceMaintains required billing records, reports, filesAnswers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides billing informationParticipates in educational activitiesMaintains strictest confidentialityCovers for other office functions as requestedPerforms other related duties as assignedPhysical and Environmental RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions.
