Job Description : Minimum qualifications:
3 years of experience as a photographer, videographer, and editor
Experience with assisting software engineers with tuning and/or algorithm development
Experience with photography and video editing suites
Ability to provide a portfolio demonstrating work in different sub-fields of photography (e.g., lifestyle, fashion, editorial, weddings, portraiture, photojournalism, sports, etc.)
Preferred qualifications:
5 years of experience as a photographer, videographer, and editor
Experience working in a technical field unrelated to photography/videography
Ability to communicate advanced photography concepts and educate a novice audience
Diverse portfolio demonstrating video editorial
About the job
As a Photographer and Image Quality Expert with Google Research, you will test and tune image quality. You will also assist with the development of hardware and software for Pixel, and for the development of new features for Google Photos.
Responsibilities
Provide qualitative and quantitative feedback on tuning, algorithmic changes, and machine learning networks that affect image quality.
Collect training data, photos, and curate diverse datasets for software development.
Identify gaps between casual smartphone and professional photography, helping to set product opportunities and direction.
Test new features to find bugs and improve user experience and evaluate real-time effects to improve value.
