ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives clean flatwork articles and classifies mend-over and wash-over articles in designated manner.
Examines flatwork articles for stains, tears or other imperfections.
Sets up, activates and adjusts assigned machine controls according to appropriate specifications.
Cleans and maintains assigned machines using cleaning solutions and lubricants.
Operates assigned machines to fold and press flatwork articles such as sheets and spreads.
Feeds articles into feeder belt which carries them into the machine.
Receives small articles from machine and folds, sorts and stacks on table or in carts.
Catches end of large articles and folds to size to store on shelves.
Forwards finished articles to appropriate location for additional processing.
Ensures quality control procedures are followed with every step in the assigned process.
Responsible to wear all the safety equipment defined in the area and to work with all the precaution and safe behavior.
Must report any unsafe act, equipment, procedure and accident to his production supervisor.
Fill out the production log related to the area.
Performs other warehouse/production duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
constantly required to stand
frequently required to bend
frequently required to lift and transport items weighing up to 25 lbs.
occasionally required to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.
occasionally required to communicate with others
Equipment typically used: Industrial flatwork ironer
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
