Job Description : The Hunt Cancer Center at Torrance Memorial is looking to add a motivated Scheduler to our team. Applicants must be able to work and navigate PPO and HMO insurances and be familiar with medical terminology. A customer service background is strongly preferred.
Primary duties include:
· Books, coordinates, and schedules patient appointments while re-scheduling as needed
· Obtains insurance approvals and authorizations for required treatments ordered by physicians or nurse practitioners
· Updates patient information as necessary in the EMR and provides any instructions and/or directions to patients and caregivers
· Demonstrates clear, open, and professional communication with patients, physicians, and other clinical staff within the practice and health system
