Job Description : Responsibilities
The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Staff Research Associate to join Dr. Lavretsky’s lab. You will be responsible for conducting research activates as part of several clinical research studies involving patient contract and collections of psychological and biological data. Primary duties include:
Provide research support to the PI and Research Supervisor to ensure that study goals are being met and problems are being identified
Conducting weekly health education sessions and tai chi training sessions with research participants
Provide virtual Tai Chi Chih instructions for participants from 2 sites- UCLA and UCSF
Assisting and overseeing data entry of study data collected
Recruiting study participants and assisting with recruitment at study sites
Scheduling follow-up visits and assessments with study participants
Assisting participants with questionnaire responses for completeness and appropriateness
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Minimum one year of clinical research experience (preferred) Demonstrated experience in research, including knowledge of research methods and terminology Knowledge of social science research, involving patient contact, consent, data collection and data tracking Experience in interviewing patients, customers, clients, etc. Experience with questionnaire administration Experience in data entry, data checking, and data management Experience in a geriatric or psychiatry setting (preferred) Excellent verbal, written communication and proofreading skills to compose and edit correspondence, reports and other materials Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently under multiple deadlines, following instructions, and work cooperatively with other staff members Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and patient information Ability to drive to various clinics throughout the greater LA area.
