Position : Utility Inspector/Gas Inspector (aka: Gas Standby)

We are seeking Utility Inspector/ Gas Inspector (aka: Gas Standby) personnel to join our team! You will be inspecting underground gas facilities on an ongoing basis. Experience with underground construction is necessary (i.e.: trenching, shoring, potholing, gas utility installation, etc.). Multiple positions available in the Bay Area. Union wages through IBEW Local 1245. Paid training provided.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Communicate with supervisor to coordinate project start times
Communicate with clients regarding scope of projects assigned to you
Reading and understanding of gas plat maps and its symbols
Troubleshoot and resolve issues on the spot
Maintain required Operator Qualifications (OQ) – training provided
Use locating equipment (Pipehorn 800HL) to verify gas facilities
Conduct routine preventive maintenance on locating equipment
Log and maintain Standby records using an iPad
Required Characteristics/ Qualifications: * Safety oriented

Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Understanding of OSHA regulations
Clean DMV driving record & background check
Ability to handle physical workload
Ability to work in different weather conditions
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to be cross trained in other trades our team offerPreferred Work Experience:
CFR 192 installation or inspection
CFR 195 installation or inspection
Preferred Qualifications
NACE 1 & 2
API 1169
OQ 05-01, 05-02, 03-05
Union wages through IBEW Local 1245.
In-Lieu of Benefits and Subsistence provided as supplemented pay.

Pay: $61.00 – $83.00 per hour
