Position : Help Desk Technician

Job Description : Position OverviewAs a Help Desk Technician, you will act as a liaison between the IT Department and other departments. You will provide support for incoming IT issues, as well as work in a proactive manner to minimize potential problems before they become an issue for the end users. Position will solve daily trouble tickets and escalate as appropriate.ResponsibilitiesActive Directory account management and creation to include responsibility for user account creation and security group placement. This includes the creation of roles, templates, mailboxes and efficient turnaround of the account requestsEquipment setup and maintenance: will setup laptops, desktops, and cellphones to company standardProvide professional end-user supportPerform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questionsDirect unresolved issues to the next level of support personnelProvide accurate information on IT products or servicesRecord events and problems and their resolution in logsInstall or upgrade software/hardware equipmentAssist and train users on a new hardware or software useWork with software vendors to diagnose and resolve issuesCommunicate to users at all levels the status of assigned tickets and expected resolutionInform the team on any issues impacting the clientEnsures security practices and policies are adhered toPass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal teamIdentify and suggest possible improvements on proceduresRequirementsProven experience as a Help Desk Technician resolving issues onsite and remoteExperience with Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, and Microsoft ExchangeUnderstanding of data backup applications and proceduresKnowledge of the following applications/systems: Microsoft Office Application Suite, Terminal Servers, Web Browsers (IE & Chrome), Antivirus software and other proprietary systems as neededUnderstanding of networking components including switches, printers, and wireless access pointsWorking knowledge of IOS and Android mobile devices and accompanying software applicationsAbility to perform simple hardware repairs and upgradesExperience with Mobile Device Management and land-line phone systems a plusMust have strong knowledge of IT hardware, software titles, requirements gathering, and IT asset management.
