Do Good Multnomah is a non-profit organization that partners with the community to provide supportive housing and low-barrier emergency shelter to houseless veterans in Portland, Oregon. The culture and care we strive to provide our shelter participants at Do Good Multnomah is extremely important to all of us. We emphasize relationshipbuilding, one-on-one engagement, supportive services, and direct community participation, we believe it is essential to gain an understanding of our participants and the issues that they face. Purpose of the role:
The Training Program Manager will be responsible for partnering with the Human Resources Team and Safety Manager to manage and grow the training program at Do Good Multnomah. This position will manage the online training platform, Relias, as well as manage the overall training plan for every position at Do Good Multnomah. They will manage live training scheduling, receive feedback on training needs from staff, and pursue creative, cost-effective solutions within a non-profit. This position will be responsible for administering trainings to staff in which they are qualified to do including but not limited to CPR, De-escalation, and other related topics as they apply to shelters, houselessness, Veterans, and DEI work.

What you’ll do:
Partner with the Recruitment & Retention program to review new hire onboarding & training and make changes as needed.Review job-specific training plans for relevancy, audit Relias usage, and provide oversight for the training program at Do Good Multnomah.Obtain relevant certifications as needed in order to administer trainings to staff related to their positions such as CPR, Narcan, De-escalation tactics, Trauma Informed Care, and more.Provide on-site support to staff by visiting programs, attending program manager meetings, and other meetings as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.Create and maintain professional relationships with outside trainers and entities to facilitate training opportunities for staff.
Assist with management of the Leadership Academy within Do Good by facilitating the application process each quarter and scheduling classes with trainers.Partner with and regularly meet with members of the director team to understand the specific training needs for each program.Provide recommendations and solutions for skill building of staff members within Do Good Multnomah.Create opportunities for management team to connect and learn from colleagues.Design trainings using optimal mix of learning delivery methods, including in-person, live-and-online, self-paced e-learning, written materials, job aids, and blended methodologies specific to positions.Leading and guiding staff mentorship within programs for new staff alongside recruitment coordinator.

Ability to meet staff where they are at in their various backgrounds, skill sets, and experiences.An understanding of the landscape of providing Veteran-centered shelter services work alongside dynamic programs including congregate shelters, motel shelters, emergency temporary Winter shelters, transitional village housing, permanent supportive housing, and mobile supportive services models.Ability to work independently and among teams successfully.Open-minded approach and respect for our staff, participants, and community partners.Creative problem-solving around resources and budget.Understanding of Veteran culture, or a willingness to dive into.
