Position : Real Estate Appraiser Trainee I

Job Description : Job Summary
Under direct supervision, performs field interviews of property owners, visits property locations, photographs structures, collects and verifies data of residential property, measures buildings, draws rough plans and computes building and land square footage areas to support the appraisal process within Oakland County. Most of these duties are performed outdoors in all types of weather. Travel is required from site to site. Occasionally, may be required to work evening hours. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications

Transcript with degree and award date to meet minimum qualifications
The application is incomplete in ANY capacity
Valid Driver’s License Number
At the time of application, applicant must:
1. Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test.

2. Have three (3) months full-time work experience in appraising real property in the assessing field, equalization field, construction trade field, fee appraising, mortgage processing, real estate, property management or building management, or architectural design field.

NOTE: A minimum of 12 credit hours at an accredited college or university in a business curriculum which included at least two business related classes may substitute for the three months full-time of experience listed above.

3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out of Country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.

4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this classification.
5. Successfully complete the six-month probationary period.

Special Requirements
