Job Description : The Chief Executive Officer serves under the direction of the Executive Committee, and Board of Directors and within the parameters of the Bylaws. The CEO will lead the overall operations of SWMBIA. This position, under the strategic direction and guidance established by the Board of Directors, is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the association. The CEO makes decisions, plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the staff, programs and activities of the association to ensure that the objectives of the association are attained, plans fulfilled, and member needs are met.Summary of Position: · Provide day-to-day leadership, management and administration of the association;· Plan, assist and oversee any and all aspects of the association’s fundraising efforts;· Call on prospective sponsors and cultivate relationships with company contacts to maintain a stream of non-dues revenue for the association;· Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the Parade of Homes and Home Show;· Searches, cultivates and guides future leaders for the Association;· Oversee and review editorial submissions in the HBA Newsletter;· Maintain a professional relationship with local, state and national associations as well as other local nonprofits to encourage the health and viability of the HBA;· Travel to NAHB meetings, when the HBA budget will allow, including the International Builders Show, Association Management Conference, Leadership Training (if in the region), and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Executive Committee.· Keep the Senior Officers apprised of important NAHB developments.Key Qualifications/Experiences/Attributes Include: · Exceptional ability to lead and inspire others is essential and required; experience should include an organization of at least similar size and complexity; including experience supervising staff and working with a Board of Directors.· Demonstrated success generating revenue and finding new revenue streams.· Great teambuilding skills; collaborative, naturally seeks others thoughts and actively listens; not afraid to address issues and conflict head on and with respect.· Adaptability and willingness to be flexible, versatile and tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.· A courageous and proven decision maker with the ability to set priorities, manage and implement them.· Demonstrated success as an effective communicator; highly skilled in strategic and operational writing and public speaking.· Proven service/employee/constituent orientation with a high level of satisfaction combined with a business acumen.· An energetic self-starter, flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks.Bachelor’s degree in chosen field; MBA or CAE is a plus.Job Type: Full-timePay: $56,745.00 – $85,000.00 per yearBenefits:Flexible scheduleHealth insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Associate (Preferred)Work Location: One location
