Position : Payroll Supervisor

Job Description : This is a direct hire with our client in Farmington Hills, MI. This position is working onsite in the office.Responsible for the overall administration of in-house payroll services for multi-state organization including supervision of payroll assistant and the reconciliation and submission of all withholding taxes and related tax returns. This position maintains expert level knowledge of payroll and accounting systems software and is the primary contact with government agencies and unions related to payroll obligations.Typical Duties Include: Ensures data integrity for weekly and bi-weekly payroll cyclesCoordination with IT, HR, Finance to align workflow for efficient processing of payrollImplement excellence in customer service with strong personal interactions and consistent communicationsResearch tax requirements and set up new states and localities as neededDevelop periodic reports and analysis for various levels of management regarding earnings, taxes, deductions, and other business informationDevelopment of payroll staffMonitor quality control for all payroll processesMaintain paid time off programs, union dues submissions, arrears trackingReviews payroll reports and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.Reconcile and process all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and tax returns including W2 processing.Maintain all electronic and hard copy payroll records as requiredMaintains knowledge of legal requirements and government regulation affecting payroll to ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement of the function and keeping abreast of best practicesQualifications5 years minimum payroll experience including in-house program and supervisory dutiesCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferredMandatory working knowledge of wage and hours laws, in-house payroll, and tax filingsExperience with multiple union dues structures a plusExperience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Greenshades Tax a plusExperience with Sierra timekeeping system a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: $95,000.00 – $105,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayExperience:Microsoft Dynamics GP: 2 years (Preferred)Greenshades: 1 year (Preferred)Sierra timekeeping software: 1 year (Preferred)Payroll Supervisor: 4 years (Preferred)License/Certification:Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) (Preferred)Work Location: One location
