Job Description : Job Summary:The IT Support Technician (ITST) is responsible for installing and maintaining computer and infrastructure hardware, software and supporting all associated end-users.The ITST reports to the Chief Information Officer. They perform help desk requests, installations, maintenance and repair work on any computer related equipment that supports the business from laptops, desktops, communications equipment (mobile & IP phones), tablets, smart phones, printers, local area networks, wide area networks, any piece of computer related peripheral or software an end user would be using. An ITST technician must perform the majority of the mentioned tasks while providing a high level of customer service to the user. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources for the company.Essential Job Functions:1. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and softwareTroubleshoot hardware, software and network operating systemBe familiar with all hardware and softwareBe familiar with network operating systemProvide orientation to new users of existing technologyTrain staff about potential uses of existing technologyTrain staff about new and potential useProvide individual training and support on requestMaintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources2. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum accessTroubleshoot all technology issuesMaintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenanceProvide network access to all staffInstall workstationsConnect and set up hardwareLoad all required softwareProvide and reset network accounts and passwords as directedMonitor factors of security as determined by CIOInput and maintain IP addressesAdvise CIO of security breach and/or change in password or security statusIdentify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriateEnsure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal3. Travel periodically to our facility (every 1-3 months, as determined by CIO) in Moses Lake, Washington4. Perform other related duties as requiredQualifications:The incumbent should have proficient knowledge, or will be trained, within the following areas:Computer hardware and software systems and programsComputer networks, network administration and network installationComputer troubleshootingComputer and network securityO365, Azure and other cloud servicesAn understanding of general agricultural and egg specific programs and operationsThe incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networksSound judgment to not implement changes that could disrupt any normal operating conditions without full understanding and approvalPropensity to document and keep documentation updatedAnalytical and problem solving skillsDecision making skills that are results drivenStress management skillsTime management skillsEffective verbal, written and listening communications skillsAbility to ask questionsThe incumbent must demonstrate the following personal attributes:Be honest and trustworthyBe respectfulPossess cultural awareness and sensitivityBe flexibleDemonstrate sound work ethicsAbility to hold confidentialityWorking Conditions:Physical DemandsThe ITST may spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. The ITST will need to perform some lifting of computer equipment, supplies and materials from time to time. The ITST will need to be able to crawl in confined spaces, remain at elevated heights (i.e. catwalks or feed bins) and operate at all conditions where IT equipment may be present.Environmental ConditionsThe ITST may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of other employees; will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks. The ITST may also operate within non-office environments that may require proper protection in the way of hairnets, safety glasses and skin coverings.Sensory DemandsSensory demands include use of the computer, which may cause eyestrain and occasional headaches. Various locations may be noisy and busy making it difficult for the ITST to concentrate.Mental DemandsThe ITST deals with a very stressful environment as many support requests stem from users who are frustrated and require immediate services. Most aspects of IT run on a 24/7 schedule, and maintenance, emergencies and other service requests may happen well-outside a typical 8-5 office schedule.Travel DemandsThe ITST will not need to regularly travel, but irregular travel to sister locations may be required (Ohio & Iowa).Job Type: Full-timePay: $24,373.00 – $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftWork Location: One location
