Position : Buying Manager

Job Description : The RV Buying Manager will direct all activities of the buying department including lead generation, team meetings, follow-up, department manager calls, and daily buying department task execution. The Buying Manager will maintain appropriate levels of inventory of specified units in each location. The Buying Manager reports directly to the Buying Director.Essential Functions· Development, implementation, and management of buying department initiatives.· Direct activities of buyers to ensure budgeted procurement levels are met or exceeded.· Monitor activity levels of buyers to ensure that their daily activity meets or exceeds expected levels· Conduct weekly group training meeting to include: inventory requirements, and best management practices.· Set and follow up with expectations that relate to department development.· Monitor CRM to ensure that information is managed correctly, and that all employees are acting timely on all leads.· Ensure “pool” of open leads is actively managed so that all purchase opportunities are managed.· Review inventory and sales needs for all locations and direct buying efforts· Conduct weekly one on one meeting with each buying department employee to review individual performance, and development issues.· Other duties and projects may be assigned.Qualifications· Four years’ buying experience preferred.· Proven strong leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a team.· Strong written and verbal communication skills and can share information in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of audiences.· Comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities and tight deadlines.· High level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.· Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of using computer applications and inventory management systems.· Self-motivated and goal-oriented.· Excellent critical thinking skills with an ability to evaluate and adjust focus and directives as needed.· Demonstrated ability to create a training program and orient personnel to ensure its success.· Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with demonstrated track record of leading meetings, communicating objectives, and providing feedback.· Excels at operating in a fast pace, multitasking environment.· Collaborative work style and commitment to success.· Ability to innovate and problem solve.Our People Are What Makes the DifferenceJohnson RV has been in business since 1998 with stores in multiple states.
