Position : Valuation Analyst (remote or Troy, MI)
Job Description : The Valuation Analyst role in the Advisor Legacy department is responsible for working directly with the Advisor Legacy team in an effort to support the work of the department. Analytical processing and thinking are important in this role as the Valuation Analyst is responsible for data collection, use of our proprietary valuation tool, and participating in the delivery and presentation of the valuation to our clients. The Valuation Analyst will spend his or her day interacting with internal members of the department as well as financial advisors to assist in the valuation process.*This role can be performed remotely or in our Troy, Michigan office.*Collect valuation data (40% of time)Verify that data is complete and correctFollow up with client for any gaps in dataAnalyze expense statement (Tax return or P&L statement)Compare expenses to valuation data providedRecast expenses to arrive at “operating expenses” onlyFollow up with client for any gaps in expense dataReview practice reports providedCompare reports to data entered in questionnaireFollow up with client for any gaps in reportsEnter data in valuation tool (25% of time)Enter data in toolEnter analyst driven metricsReview results (save valuation and set aside for one day)Review results a second time and make any final adjustmentsDeliver valuation to clientReview valuation deliverable with client (35% of time)Review deliverable with client and answer questionsProvide coaching on areas of practice related to valuationMake recommendations on follow up services and next stepsProvide valuation deliverable to Relationship Manager with recommended follow upComplete any follow up steps with the clientRequired skills & experience:Highly analytical with extreme attention to detailAble to manage a high volume of work and maintain consistent qualityPride in quality of workKnowledge of financial planning/wealth management practicesStrong communications skills, both written and verbalAbility to communicate with clients at the C-levelStrong coaching and consulting skills and experiencePlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
