Your day

As a Performance Improvement Data Specialist you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:

Maintains and distributes organizational, department, service, and committee scorecards and reports, including reports to external agencies, as directed.

Analyzes and interprets reports for patients and trends using statistical tools and techniques. Simplifies results of analysis and presents findings to management, using available data visualization tools when needed.

Partners with physicians to provide data for quality improvement initiatives.

Participates in process improvement projects utilizing data to drive improvement.

Uses comparative data to establish benchmarks, as appropriate.

Collects and reports appropriate data elements to meet regulatory obligations, including Joint Commission standards.

Assists to align department, leader, and committee goals with organizational goals and objectives.

Assists leaders in establishing measurable goals using baseline data and realistic improvement targets.

Develops audit and/or data collection tools as needed.

Serves as an application specialist and training resource for multiple software programs and various web tools, including but not limited to Premier, Total Benchmark Solutions, Crimson, Compass, Tableau and others.

Collaborates with other associates in collating and visualizing data, including other data experts. Uses trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills to validate data and identify data integrity issues.

Manages projects and initiatives, schedules and facilitates meetings as necessary, meets deadlines, and provides deliverables to the customer.

Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Your experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Business Administration, Statistics OR healthcare-related field, required

Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis and use, preferred

Experience in the use of reporting platforms (ie. Tableau, Premier), preferred
