Job Description : SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Deputy Court Administrator (DCA) of the Juvenile Division, assists in planning, directing, and coordinating the following departments and positions: Juvenile Status Department, Assigned Counsel Services, and Manager of Specialty Courts (and all personnel and departments that report to the Manager). This role leads the above-referenced departments and personnel as assigned to ensure timely delivery and quality services to the public and bench in accordance with State and Federal guidelines. This role works closely in concert with the Chief Referee to ensure the efficiency of services delivered within the Juvenile Division. Utilizes team-building concepts, ensures the continuing professional development of assigned staff, and upholds the provisions of the staff’s collective bargaining agreements, Third Judicial Circuit Court Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, Diversity and Inclusion Plan, and participates in labor relations negotiations. Employees in this title are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:· Consults with the DCA to establish operational goals for the assigned departments in accordance with the Court’s strategic plan.· Reviews statutes, court rules, regulations, policies and procedures to prepare reports, summaries, and recommendations to the DCA.· Represents the division and serves as Administrator in charge, along with the Chief Referee, in the absence of the DCA, as assigned.· Works closely in concert with the Chief Referee to ensure the efficient delivery of services within the Juvenile Division.· Plans, directs, and coordinates activities and projects to ensure that above-referenced departmental goals are accomplished within the defined scope and time frame.· Provides recommendations and analysis relative to process improvements.· Supervises work of subordinate staff, delegates tasks, and approves time.· Directs reporting staff by identifying and assigning work, documenting work performance metrics and communicating work performance expectations, establishing professional development plans, providing training, implementing corrective actions plans, approving time, assuring appropriate staffing coverage, conducting periodic performance reviews, acknowledging accomplishments, providing assistance, performs investigations and issuing discipline.· Participates in strategic planning and visioning with the Juvenile Division management team.· Conducts regular meetings with reporting supervisors, managers, and staff regarding operational goals, status changes, and other pertinent information.· Assists assigned departments in seeking alternative funding sources for maintenance and expansion of services provided by these departments and other projects impacting public awareness, safety, and the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.· Serves as a liaison between the assigned departments and various child welfare and juvenile justice stakeholders.· Assists with developing job descriptions for job titles within the Juvenile Division.· Serves as a participant on the interview panel for job titles within the Juvenile Division.· Responds to inquiries from the public, private bar, and bench.· Develops and manages innovative pilots and projects to address the continuing needs of access and improved case-flow management, including grant projects, for the departments assigned.· Pursues continued professional development.· Performs other duties as assigned.· Ensures a diverse and inclusive work environment by participating in Diversity and Inclusion trainings and workshops, may serve as a member of the Court’s Diversity and Inclusion team, and promotes the best practices of Diversity and Inclusion.QUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Court Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.· Seven (7) years of experience of increasing responsibility in family law (domestic, juvenile, or child welfare).· Five (5) years of supervisory and administrative experience in a court, legal, law enforcement, judicial or closely related setting.· Experience in areas of budgetary/fiscal management, information technology, project management, including assessing risks and exposures, identifying options and alternatives, making decisions, and implementing corrective actions.· Proficient using MS Office Suite and relevant software and systems.Job Type: Full-timePay: $92,175.00 – $115,721.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:All employees are still required to wear a mask entering the building, answer a COVID screening survey before entering the building, and adhere to social distancing precautions.
