As a Treasury Associate you will support and consult with multiple facets of the General Motors global portfolio by solving challenging and critical strategic issues facing the company. Associates may work on diverse projects such as managing GM’s cash investment portfolio, developing an FX risk management policy, analyzing investments in new ventures, setting corporate liquidity policy, managing global bank relations, or issuing bonds, etc.

The role requires strong corporate finance knowledge, analytical skills and the ability to optimize a range of inputs and scenarios to support effective decision-making. Additionally, the candidate must have the capacity to build positive relationships with a broad range of functions throughout the organization

Responsibilities

Assist in the development and execution of various corporate treasury functions

Develop and utilize financial modeling techniques to evaluate risks and opportunities

Solve problems and develop new methods of analysis to streamline decision making

Develop and present insights and well thought out recommendations to leaders

Collaborate and coordinate information flow with other business units for optimal corporate decisions

Prepare and present periodic and ad-hoc senior management reports to support operational and risk reviews

Learn and partner with other Finance teams across GM (FP&A, Product Development, Supply Chain, Sales Service and Marketing, Manufacturing, etc.)

Present to GM Senior Management and communicate key issues for action/decision

Provide accurate, timely, and reliable reporting and controls

Additional Job Description

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related areas

MBA and/or Master’s degree preferred

Strong Corporate Finance and Treasury knowledge and experience, sound understanding of financial statements, ability to lead projects cross-functionally

2+ years of experience in financial positions with similar responsibilities (i.e. financial statements / cash flow experience strongly desirable; operating finance experience (commercial finance, supply chain finance, manufacturing etc.)

Ability to generate clear, solid analysis and recommendation for senior leadership

Structured and clear communication (verbal and written)

High level of integrity and focus on control; attention to detail; analytical thinking; ability to manage multiple demands from various stakeholders; self-driven; sense of urgency and resilience

Familiarity with Accounting Principles
