IT Systems Operations Team (JAMF Engineer) T3 – IT Engineering

The JAMF Engineer is a global role responsible for reliability, performance, recoverability and security of JAMF systems and requires a proactive team player that must uphold the core values of the organization, which include integrity, respect, personal accountability, creative initiative, teamwork and excellence.

Provides L2 engineering-level technical support to various departments and stakeholders with regards to JAMF and MAC/Apple Devices infrastructure and applications. Serves as a liaison with vendors and other third party providers. Operates under minimal supervision, with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibility

Administration and Maintenance of existing JAMF Server

Create user adoption by performing technical services including installation, configurations, integrations, workflow enhancements
Maintain an expert level of knowledge of Jamf products, Apple products, and related technologies as measured by certifications and Jamf training completion
Contribute to and maintain departmental and organizational documentation Provide feedback to other teams within TaskUs to document feature requests and assist in the product issue resolution process
Act as a project lead for various departmental initiatives as assigned by management
Continuously expand knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attend ongoing educational programs, complete online training)
Provide mentoring, support, and enablement training within the Team and other internal IT partners as needed or assigned
Represent TU as product/technology expert within the Jamf and Apple communities
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Work with Endpoint Solutions Architect for the development or implementation of new solutions or designs
Remediate vulnerabilities identified by InfoSec Team on JAMF Server
Coordinate and meet with Information Security Engineering and provide recommendation on how to proceed with remediation for all Apple/MAC Devices
Attend Audit meetings to be the POC and Systems resource in providing evidences required by the auditor, be it PCI, HIPAA, SOC, ISO 270001, etc

Participate in planning and recommends MAC OS or IOS and related IT technology asset architectures and recommends new/emerging technology for application into the enterprise
Define, develop and document new systems deployment processes in accordance with criteria established by Systems Architect.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks on MAC Environment. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Function as a core member of the standardization team. In concert with the Endpoint Solutions Architect and MAC Engineer, define and annually validate systems processes and deployment documentation.
Create and develop high quality operational and technical documentations, concept of operations documentations, including Visio diagrams, high-level descriptions of the environment, as well as detailed instructions outlining the steps required to repeat the build-out and configuration of the infrastructure
Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and purpose of the organization

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Document, upgrade and configure existing / new system software that supports production infrastructure applications per project or operational needs thru JAMF
Work with MAC Engineer and IT Support for escalation to provide BAU support for existing Endpoints running on MAC OS and IOS

Acts as a liaison with vendors and third party vendors especially JAMF Vendor
Capable of managing complex technical projects, and communicating status to Customers and Project managers to assist with the design and review of new Systems related to MAC, applications and hardware throughout project life cycles
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support site existing system’s infrastructure and projects
Flexible person with the ability to manage stressful situations and adapt to rapidly changing environments and requirements
Participates in deep dive root cause analysis, investigation and advanced troubleshooting of problems and conduct remediation and actions to provide permanent fix or resolutions to issues

Experience and skills:

Minimum of four years of experience providing iOS and macOS related technical support or training to end-users (Required)
Four years or more of server platform experience – Windows or Linux (Required)
Ability to write complex scripts in Bash, Python, or Swift (Required)

Ability to travel up to 25% both domestic and internationally (Required)
Understanding of full Apple Product Portfolio (Preferred)
Ability to adapt and solve challenges quickly and efficiently
Excellent presentation skills in small and large group settings to both technical and non-technical audiences in onsite and remote environments
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Self-starter, energetic, and highly motivated

Experience in high volume ticket environment, knowledge of Service Now ticketing systems or Service Desk Plus is a plus
Education and Certifications

Information Technology or Computer Science or Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Jamf’s Associate, Tech, and Admin level certification (Required)
Jamf’s Expert level certifications (Preferred)
MAC

ITIL Foundation (is a plus)
