Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. There are primarily four job families in GAC: Decision Sciences, Information Management, Business Consulting and MI Reporting. This role applies to the Information Management job family and sits within the Data, Decision Systems and Credit Bureau unit supporting Credit Bureau Management for WPB under Credit Control Services. The Data and Decision Systems is responsible for the delivery and support of the risk management tools, systems and data across HSBC while the Credit Bureau Unit is responsible for driving Excellence in Credit Bureau management within Credit Control Services (CCS) by establishing strong processes, continuously working on optimization and establishing robust controls to support Credit Bureau initiatives globally.
The Central Utility Team under are responsible for driving Excellence in Credit Bureau management within Credit Control Services (CCS) by establishing strong processes, continuously working on optimization and establishing robust controls to support Credit Bureau initiatives globally. We are focused on establishing and adhering to excellence in quality of data reporting externally to the Credit Bureaus and are involved in streamlining these reporting processes, validating, remediating and monitoring the integrity assessment on the data reported from HSBC. We also get involved in customer dispute analysis and resolution, Bureau Vendor Management, etc as per business requirement. We are able to support any country from amongst WPB retail portfolio and have developed expertise in detailed understanding of the Credit Bureau reporting standards across markets. There is a strong regulatory and customer impact aspect of incorrect reporting of customer data externally and therefore developing a thorough understanding of reporting requirements and excellence in execution is critical for success in this role.
What you’ll do:
Establish, support and optimize customer data submission process to Credit Reference Agencies across the multiple countries, for Retail & Commercial. Review and identify opportunities for enhancement of current data collation and reporting process. Develop data quality validation based on SAS and Alteryx
She/he should have analytical independent thought process and can do attitude towards all the problems needing a solution.
Independently delivers end to end on simple projects on data quality & improvement proactively. Assists in delivery of more complicated analyses/strategy under supervision of the team lead within agreed timelines and as per agreed quality standards.
Execute moderate to complex analysis with help of the supervisor. Complete analysis as required and document results and present findings along with recommendations to stakeholders
The role holder will be expected to go to the heart of the business problem under consideration, and provide a solution for Business decision.
Handling Credit Bureau related tasks such as Change Requests including preparation of Business Functional Requirement document (BFRD), UAT and Test spec; Dispute resolution in terms of customer data correction and re-submission of customer data to CRAs/Bureaus,
Provide support at global level for the credit bureau initiatives.
Manage in-house Reporting/Dashboards and constantly find ways to optimize.
Periodically participate on projects geared to improve process and technology to advance capabilities in the credit bureau area.
Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Post Graduate degree in quantitative disciplines (Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, and Management Science) preferable.
At least 2 years of proven data analysis and/or IM experience, or equivalent with experience of analyzing and presenting conclusions.
Strong programing knowledge of SAS, SQL or other equivalent analytical tools. Proficient knowledge of SAS (base & advanced), MS Office suite, R Tool, Python, Operational data analysis. Experience in Alteryx while not critical to securing this role, would be a plus.
Must have at least 3 years of experience in SAS/SQL or Web based data visualization technologies.
Must be a self-starter and will be required to work under minimal supervision, but with firm deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with background in technical and business communications
Excellent inter-personal skills, comfortable and successful establishing professional relationships
Good organizational, project management, analytical, problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills.
