The Program Manager on the LTC Portfolio Development Planning team is accountable, together with the Corporate Development team, to drive the planning and execution of projects/activities related to growth opportunities in connection with redevelopment of Extendicare’s existing long-term care beds and redevelopment of long-term care beds owned by partners/3rd parties. Ontario long term care redevelopment projects will span several years and require support of the broader team to move through the assessment of viability, costing/pricing analysis, site identification and control, internal and external approvals, project update reporting and monitoring phases etc.

Responsibilities:

Driving projects through approvals processes (both municipal and provincial). This includes:
Monthly meeting with MLTC to progress provincial approvals and outline priorities and key delivery dates.
Participation in internal discussions regarding LTC redevelopment advocacy planning and partnership opportunities.
Reporting/monitoring key deliverables and timelines including critical dates across multiple work streams: land acquisition, ministry and municipal approvals, design development, construction.
Working broadly across the Extendicare team to progress projects: Financial Planning and Analysis, Design, Construction, Government Relations, Operations, and Finance etc.
Preparing presentations and status reports for Senior Leadership Team and Board. Monthly material is prepared for the Senior Leadership Team to provide key updates and solicit feedback and direction on key decisions and workplans.
Responding to RFP’s (Provincial government and 3rd party)
Responding to MLTC requests for information related to our existing portfolio of homes and other ad-hoc requests
Market Research to track allocation of LTC bed awards and to gain insights on development concepts of other industry players, which may inform our own offering.
Resource allocation and monitoring
Reviewing process flows and identifying opportunities for improvement (e.g., Ministry approval process, internal processes)

Skills and Qualifications:

Post-secondary education;
3+ years’ experience moving complex, high priority initiatives forward (PMP certification is a plus);
Self-starter, who is eager to learn, grow, and make a difference;
Detail and results oriented, with highly developed analytical, organizational and prioritization skills;
Committed team-player with a high degree of personal and professional integrity;
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across a cross-functional team;
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize effectively;
Ability to function effectively in ambiguity and to progress with incomplete information;
Ability to develop clear, concise, and compelling briefings for the Executive Team;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Strong proficiency with MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Project);
Long Term Care and/or Government experience is a plus;
Experience in Real Estate Development and Seniors’ Care is a plus.
