Job Description:
Sebastian is seeking a Backup Administrator with experience in managing and maintaining computer and server systems, network infrastructures, and software applications both for internal and external environments. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all systems are well maintained and operate reliably as a Managed Service Provider (MSP). Tasks performed by the Systems Administrator include, but are not limited to, providing support to internal and external users, monitor and manage internal and external network environments, monitor and ensure the integrity of all security platforms, and providing guidance and support to other Tier-1 and Tier-2 technicians. This individual must have the ability to engineer and deploy new systems, including sales engineering, as well as make recommendations on new solutions and tools to continuously improve operations. The Systems Administrator must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members and departments on projects and integrated solutions. This position is non-remote and will be required to work in an office environment in Kerman, CA.

Job Duties:

Provide third-level hands-on system administration support, maintenance and operations support, including project and Helpdesk services.
Respond to trouble ticket system requests and accurately document the path to resolution.
Maintain, administer, and monitor computer networks and related computing environments including hardware, software applications, notifications, and hosted services.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve server and storage hardware, software and other network and system related problems, both physical and virtual.
Maintain and perform data backups and disaster recovery operations and tasks.
Maintain, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware including anti-virus protection and cyber security in accordance with Best Practices.
Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications including mobile devices and related services.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, processes, and procedures in accordance with Industry Standards.
Recommend changes to improve systems, security, and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
Perform account audits, log reviews, system file audits, patch audits, service audits and ports/protocol analysis on computer networks, including penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
Perform job walks to engineer and deploy new solutions to meet customer needs.
Provide on-call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members.

Job Requirements:

Must have Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems, server hardware, virtualization (e.g. VMware and Hyper-V), NAS/SANs (e.g. NetApp and HP), VoIP systems (e.g. ShoreTel/Mitel), applications such as Microsoft Suites, and database management (e.g. SQL).
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet networks (e.g. VLANs, VPN, VoIP, LAN/WAN), and network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points (e.g. Cisco, HP, Sophos, Aruba) .
Knowledge of cyber security, tools, and best practices (e.g. Rapid Fire, Sophos, Cisco, etc.) .
Excellent Knowledge of administrative tasks in a Windows server environment (e.g. Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS/DHCP, etc.).
Strong Knowledge of email systems and mail protocols such as Microsoft Exchange and Office 365.
Solid Knowledge of backup, replication, and disaster recovery tasks and best practices (e.g. Veeam and Datto).
Understanding of monitoring and automation tools (e.g. ConnectWise and SolarWinds)
Excellent troubleshooting skills & ability to quickly diagnose and fix hardware/software/network issues.
A DMV and criminal background check will be required upon receipt of a conditional job offer for this position.
Must have a valid California driver license and favorable DMV record.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
Must have minimal ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, push, and pull as required for light duties of standard office clerical positions.
Occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
Exposure to air-conditioned/heated office environment.
Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word level.
Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing data, operation of office equipment, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
