Job Summary:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Defoliation Technician to assist the Cultivation team with daily functions that will support many facets of the company. The ideal candidate will be punctual, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and willing to flex into a new role at any given moment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Strategic removal of leaves and/or stems based on specified growth stages
Knowledgeable of plant anatomy to understand direction in which leaves, and stems grow
Ensure the plants are in optimal health and report any problems seen on daily walks.
Maintains a high degree of attention to detail, accountability, and responsibility.
Low-stress training techniques including but not limited to bending, guiding, and pinching
Ensure the grow facility is kept free of pests, viruses, or other diseases by
preventing contamination through proper use of Personal Protection Equipment
(PPE) and biological controls established within the cultivation SOPs.
Regularly sanitize tools, equipment, pots and production areas used in the grow
facility to ensure sanitary conditions.
Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity through coordinated
workflow and efficient systems.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
This position requires a great deal of sitting, walking, bending, and reaching
Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift objects on a regular basis, and perform daily repetitive tasks
Close visual focus required
This position requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut/manipulate small objects
Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
Ability to climb, push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, sit, stand, bend and reach for the duration of shift
Have a sound knowledge of market trends
Flexibility – this role will be ever-changing
Display accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detail.
Have a basic understanding of cannabis laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state
Education and Experience:
High school or equivalent
Cannabis experience is not required, but other relevant agricultural or plant knowledge is required.
