Job Description : Minimum Requirements
Educational Equivalent: High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Two years’ minimum experience in facility maintenance and repair and have comprehensive understand of performing essential duties in a military environment.
· Understand the application and function of target devices and associated equipment
· Be familiar with military radio procedures
· Skilled in general carpentry, masonry and metal works.
· Must have experience with basic carpentry, metal and Masonry tools and the equipment required to perform the essential functions and duties listed.
· Have a general understanding of production control
· Understand basic; supply/issue/receive functions
· Experience with bench stock procedures
· Have ability to read and interpret military topographical maps.
· Able to orient and read a military map to a ten digit grid coordinate,
· Must possess a valid California driver’s license-Class C
· Qualify for a military driver’s license within 30 days and attend the Defensive Driver’s Course (DDC).
· Have a general understanding of military range control and field training operations
· Have the ability to interpret military phraseology and acronyms
· Some knowledge of military weapons and ammunition is preferred
· Must have the ability to use and interpret technical publications, manuals, blueprints, sketches, diagrams and schematics.
· Must have the ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions.
· Have experience following written and verbal instructions.
· Have the ability to work in a fast paced and environmentally challenging environment.
· Will be required to work 2nd or 3rd shift, holidays, and weekends.
· Preferred experience of military FM radio communication procedures.
· Will be required to use mechanic’s hand tools, power cutting tools, hand measurement tools, and other tools and devices.
· The employee is required to provide and wear steel toe safety boots to begin employment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is required to walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to drive civilian and military wheeled vehicles up to and including full-size trucks. The employee must lift and move up to 75 pounds. The employee is required to wear and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to individual job employee is required to work in frequent exposure to dust, desert pollen and extreme heat and cold associated with the desert environment and natural conditions existing on Fort Irwin.
