Job Description : Production Manager**GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for managing all facets of the Production Department. Responsible for departmental quality, production improvements, scrap/re-work, safety and housekeeping. Trains, establishes work assignments, reviews and disciplines employees. Work is guided by established company policy and quality requirements of both the Quality & Environmental Management System and customer expectations. Work involves direction or supervision of other employees. Reports to the Vice President of Operations.QUALIFICATIONS: General educational background with both written and verbal communication skills typically acquired through completion of high school or GED equivalent. Position requires experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment. Must have knowledge and experience in production machines, skilled trades, machine repair, safety procedures, OSHA regulations and environmental procedures. Experience should include lean activities and continuous improvement methodology.DUTIES: Communicate with and assist all departments and personnel as neededActively involved in solving all problems relating to personnel, production, quality and environmentalAssist and monitor production and throughput improvement goalsAssist in developing and implementing training programsTrack the production flow through the operator and set up personnelParticipate in all phases of production including tooling, machine maintenance, new jobs, samples and prototypesParticipate in Fast Response process. Review reports and analyze hold ups and rejections. Determine the cause and implement corrective actions. Complete corrective action documentation as required.Advise for purchase, items for automating or improving our processes. Initiate, develop/implement continuous improvement activities to eliminate waste and improve processes.Initiate, develop and implement new methods to increase efficiency and qualityFollow Management Systems policies, procedures and work instructionsConduct SysteManagement meetings with personnel on a periodic basisServe as member of APQP, follow up on all assigned requirements and assist with new job start upParticipate in formulating and administering company policies, procedures and work instructions including Quality & Environmental Management Systems and developing long range goals and objectivesReview and approve requisition formsObserve blueprint specifications for all dimensions and requirements to assure maximum quality and productionAssist in the quoting process as neededServe on Managers CommitteeServe as trainer, mentor and coach in the development of all subordinatesParticipate on cross functional teams as neededParticipate in Leadership trainingParticipate in the continuous improvement, research and recommendations for all operational processesAssist in maintaining safe practices for all employeesMaintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment by following the 5S principlesComplete all other specially assigned tasks or projectsRESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND AUTHORITY: Support production of profitable productResponsible for reporting the performance of all disciplines identified above to the officers and managers for review, critique and recommendationsWork towards profit maximization through the most efficient and effective use of Rima’s resources for consistent on-time delivery of quality products to both internal and external customersMaintain formal budgets for assigned areasResponsible for performance of all production & building maintenance work areasResponsible to monitor and complete all training records and appraisals of all personnelResponsible for Health and Safety of employeesWORKING CONDITIONS: Employee will be exposed to the noise, fumes and temperature extremes typically found in a light manufacturing environment. Risk of injury from being in close proximity of operating machinery is possible, but unlikely if proper safety precautions are followed. Lifting requirements for this position dictate that the employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 30# on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 50# on an occasional basis.Job Type: Full-timePay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
