Job Description : Global Risk Review (GRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued, and timely assurance to the Board of Directors of Citigroup, the Risk Management Committees, the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, senior management, and regulators over the effectiveness of credit, capital and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and Independent Risk to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging risks. Within GRR, the Fundamental Credit Risk (FCR) function provides an independent review and challenge of credit risk management.
The FCR Consumer Analytics team is responsible for developing a structured framework & strategy to complement Consumer Credit Review activities through analytical insights into various stages of consumer credit management. Primary objective of this framework & execution strategy is to enhance the efficiency & effectiveness of various credit review processes using both standardized and customized analytics.
Developmental opportunities include experience in a high visibility, dynamic function, exposure to both Consumer & Wholesale businesses, enhanced business contacts, interaction with senior leadership & leadership responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:
Develop standard analytics to facilitate FCR Consumer Business Monitoring (BM) activities, including establishing standard risk indicators to facilitate Lead Reviewers execute BM coverage of relevant credit risk families.
Support & participate in the development of customized analytics for Risk Differentiated Reviews (RDR), including targeted retrievals which help Lead Reviewers in determining key focus areas for the detailed review plan, and in detecting potential anomalies in adherence to approved businesses’ credit origination policies and/or approved portfolio management programs.
Develop capabilities for efficient data extraction from global data repositories and establish data analysis procedures (including alternate data sources, and protocols for entities with data transfer restrictions).
Develop & productionize standardized metrics & reports – FCR consumer scorecards / dashboards, Portfolio tables (P-Tables), Portfolio quality assessment tool (PQAT), etc.
Participate as required in the validation of corrective action plans (CAPs), including the development of ad hoc analysis to verify sustainable resolution of issues.
Travel required (0% – 10%)
Knowledge/Experience:
Advanced Degree (Masters) in Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Finance, Econometrics, Operations Research, or other quantitative disciplines
4+ years of experience in financial services (consumer credit – secured & unsecured) and related analytics experience preferably with exposure to different retail lending products and regions
Experience with industry standard data visualization tools – Tableau, Arcadia, Datameer, etc. is highly desirable
Extensive exposure to various data repository structures, data extraction methods and various analytical/statistical tools (SAS, SQL, Python, etc.) is desirable
Awareness of regulatory guidelines in data usage and governance
Experience with and previous exposure to internal or external control functions and regulators (incl. the US) is desirable.
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a quantitative discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of Masters with 4+ years of experience
Skills/Competencies:
Excellent quantitative and analytic skills; ability to derive patterns, trends, and insights, and perform risk/reward trade-off analysis
Good business acumen and strong analytical skills with hands on experience driving consumer credit strategy and/or the ability to connect analytics with business decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences.
Demonstrated project management skills, and ability to multi-task effectively and work against tight deadlines
Detailed-oriented, high level of intellectual curiosity and strong sense of ownership
Knowledge of Citi’s organization and systems preferred.
