Job Description : THE POSITION
Washington County Parks is looking to hire THREE (3) reliable, customer-service individuals to staff our paddle-craft rental and concession facility – Scoggins Valley Outfitters – located at Scoggins Valley Park, home of Henry Hagg Lake.
Each year Washington County residents and visitors find enjoyment, fun, and relaxation at the park that some call the “Jewel of the Coast Range”. For more information visit: Scoggins Valley Park – Hagg Lake.
About the Positions:
Recreation Attendants facilitate paddle-craft rentals and provide a safe and enjoyable recreation experience to park visitors. Primary duties include interacting with visitors and renters, facilitating rentals, carrying and cleaning paddle-crafts, selling snacks and sundries, processing cash and paperwork, providing public information about the park and water safety, assisting with special events, and light park operations and maintenance.
Hours of Operation:
Operating on Saturdays and Sundays (and limited holidays) during our peak season of May – September (closing post-Labor Day weekend 2022). These positions will be scheduled Saturday and Sunday (and Mondays on holiday weekends) between 10:00AM – 8:30PM. Schedule to be set once positions have been filled.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Some duties may include:
Performs various inventory and supply activities such as counting, moving, organizing, and storage of equipment and supplies; performs basic and routine administrative tasks such as filing and answering phones.
Provides general labor or administrative assistance on a variety of projects, activities, and events.
Assists in creating a positive and supportive work environment; enforces a safe workplace; establishes a culture of teamwork and communication; creates a workplace that promotes the organizational values of workplace diversity, equity and inclusion and actively promotes an environment respectful of living and working in a multicultural society.
Performs daily custodial cleaning duties in facilities, buildings, structures, and grounds; sweeps and mops floors, cleans restrooms, offices, and other facilities; cleans windows; empties trash receptacles; sweeps parking lots.
Provides traffic control and directs parking for events held at the County fair complex; provides general customer service to attendees of events held at County facilities.
Sets up and breaks down equipment, tables, chairs, and other supplies used at the County Fair and other events held at County facilities; moves and stacks tables, chairs, and other supplies in preparation for events and as part of cleanup during and after events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent; AND one (1) year of experience that includes driving a vehicle and performing related general labor duties in an office, retail, or warehouse setting.
Must be 18 years of age at the time of hire.

Background Investigation:
This position requires that you successfully pass a criminal history background investigation, post job offer.

Conditional Offer of Appointment: Human Resources will conduct a salary analysis for the top candidates and will extend a conditional offer of appointment.
Post-Offer Checks: Human Resources will conduct a background check.
Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.

This is a non-represented position and is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Regular and limited duration full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week and job share employees are eligible for benefits beginning on the first of the month following employment.
